What are the advantages of SEPS board over EPS board? 

SEPS board is a new type of exterior wall insulation decorative board improved on EPS board. The facing layer is fluorocarbon paint, real stone paint, imitation stone etc. Insulation layer is the mix material of EPS and graphite flame retardant. The advantage of this material is as below:

 

1. SEPS board reaches Class B1 of flame-retardant type.

The combustion performance of SEPS is up to grade B1 (GB8624-1997 Classification on burning behaviour for building materials), and it has good fire performance.

2. Better insulating capability

SEPS is a classic thermal insulation EPS material which is further refined by chemical method and improved the heat-

insulating property. It contains special graphite particles that reflect heat radiation like a mirror.

3. Less cost

The outstanding insulation ability of SEPS board is especially obvious at low density. Only 170 kg SEPS board is needed to achieve a low thermal conductivity of 0.032w / (m.k) for the insulation system with an area of 200 ㎡. If the conventional EPS board needs about 300kg, it will save 40% of the cost.

 

4. More eco-efficiency, alleviate the ecological burd

SEPS board is far more eco-efficient than other insulation materials, which can make its contribution in reducing heating and cooling costs and reducing environmental burden.
